PV panels (photovoltaics), are placed on the roof, a pole structure, or a ground mount.  The power produced by the panels is fed through a power conditioning box (inverter).  From the inverter, the power is fed to the home or business's existing service panel, and to the utility meter.

For a home or business in a remote location, or whenever emergency backup power is required, power is supplied to storage batteries for night time electrical usage.
Solar PV Panels  convert sunlight instantly into DC electric power.

Existing Electrical Panel distributes solar electricity and utility power to loads in the house. These circuits will not, however, operate during a utility outage.

Utility Power
is automatically provided at night and during the day when your demand exceeds your solar production.
Inverter  converts DC power into standard household AC power for use in the home and synchronizes with utility power.

Utility Meter
spins in reverse when solar power production exceeds house demand, selling power back to the utility.

Battery Storage (optional)  provides energy to the inverter to operat,e dedicated loads during a utility outage, day or night.

Batteries are recharged during an outage by the solar array, and are kept on float during normal utility operation.

New Electrical Panel (optional)  holds circuits pulled from existing panel for essential loads. These circuits are powered during normal utility operation and also during outages, automatically.
